NAPS DECLEARS INDEFINITE STRIKE
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS (NAPS)
DECLARES INDEFINITE STRIKE ON OUR CAMPUSES, SOLIDARIZES
WITH THE MASSES.
*Protocols
To every unlookers, you are either a freedom fighter or a coward.
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) being an
umbrella body regulating all Polytechnics Monotechnics, Colleges
of Education and Technologies students across the six geo-
political zones of the federation and and diasporas.
The sole and basic source of our
strength is the solidarity of workers,
peasants and the intelligentsia, the
solidarity of the nation, the
solidarity of people who seek to live
in dignity, truth, and in harmony
with their conscience------Lech Walesa
The apex students' body as named above is saddled with the
responsibility of being in the vanguard of campaign for equity,
promoting unity, leadership development, free and qualitative
education at all levels through orientations, advocacy, capacity
building, constructive agitations, justice and good governance, for
over two decades.
It remains sacrosanct to this leadership in the course of
vociferating the voicelessness of our members to the populace in
disassociating to the widely aired allegations to the NANS National
our constituency withdraws all institutions under National NANS
from the support of PMS hike price to join the average Nigerians.
Its so obvious that our government in regards to not having direct
feelings of the consequences of hardship this obnoxious policies
would cause the masses.
At a time when the change of government called for necessity,
when NANS National deviated to support the former government all
for monetary purpose against the then intending APC government
which later now regretably come on board to bestow hardship on
Nigeria populace. At that time regardless of monetary advantages
the leadership of then NAPS government led selfless NAPS officials
to support PMB agenda which we then believe we need to bring
people out of hardship but now reverse is the case. It is on this
note of disappointment, the leadership of NAPS stands aside from
the bribed NANS authority as we would never deviate from our
core value of serving God through humanity as it remains the best
service.
Our recent silent does not means we are cowards but ever
dynamic Alutarians who would always heed to the 3Cs of Aluta
policies. After considering every considerable considerations, and
haven exhausted the first two Cs of Aluta cum the show of
humanely disloyalty and sense of betrayal as many (NANS
National and NLC) has forgotten posterity. All these had been
shown through inadequate and inefficient supposed trusted
solidarity fight by the NANS national recently, and here we are in
the accompanishment of another set of betrayals of the Nigeria
Labour Congress (NLC). Therefore, we resolves as follows:
1. That commencing from Wednesday 25th May, 2016;
polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of education and other allied
institutions awarding ND, NCE and HND certificates across the
nation should by this notice facilitate, endorse, commence,
accommodate, a nationwide shut down of all of our campuses
across the nation to:
a. Fight for the revival of the Nation's glory which seems to be in
comatose, dilemma, and dilapidated in the hands of the saboteurs
of hope who without respect for the people kills gradualy, the
essences of our sacrifices for them.
b. Fight for the right of our parents who works hard and are paid
lesser cum being owed cumbersome salaries and allowances
which denies we the children of prompt payments of school fees,
accommodations, and other expenses of educational and social life
of future leaders and our unborn generations.
2. That all auspice union presidents and their members/comrades
should as from Tuesday 24th May, 2016 converge @:
a. Berger, Abuja @ 7:00am
b. Museum Benin, Edo State @ 7:00am
c. The Polytechnic, Ibadan Oyo State (all students' unions and
fellow comrades to converge @ below venue.
d. CONVERGING POINT: MAYFAIR ROUND ABOUT, LAGERE ILE-
IFE, OSUN STATE.
We shall never be tired but refires to acquire the Nation's desires.
There is no stability without
solidarity and no solidarity without
stability.----Jose Manuel Barroso
If NANS in accompany of NLC has shown the Nigeria populace
their inefficiencies in handling and opposing national obnoxious
policies/issues bothering the mind of the poor Nigerians whose
interest are supposed to supercede any other interest of
personalities. We the poor Nigerians and also as the
representatives of the poor Nigerians we says NO to price hike of
PMS and therefore harmoniously calls for immediate redress in
solidarity with our sister union of the south-west zone (NANS).
To us, it really seems visible today
that ethics is not something exterior
to the economy, which, as technical
matter, could function on its own;
rather, ethics is an interior principle
of the economy itself, which cannot
function if it does not take account
of the human values of solidarity
and reciprocal responsibility.
A hostility to modernity is shared by ideologies that have somehing
else in
common - a nostalgia for moral clarity, small-town intimacy, family
values, primitive communism, ecological
sustainability, communitarian solidarity, or harmonies with the
rhythms of nature.
We wish all Unionists and Comrades a cisis free journey all
through. May our intents to serve the populace speak for us.
Aluta Continual......
