OONI SUSPENDS MAYE OF IFE ; RAYMOND ADEDOYIN OVER PEOTRY

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has in Tuesday suspended Maye of Ife and Founder of Oduduwa University, Chief Ramon Adedoyin over an alleged ‘Ewi’ (poetry).
The poetry was allegedly composed to deride the stool of Ooni.
The Council of Ife chiefs also revealed that the plan is ongoing to remove Oloyere of Oyere, Oba Adeoye Adefarakan, who they accused of conniving with Adedoyin to tarnish the image of Oba Ogunwusi.
The Royal Traditional Council of the Source announced the suspension of Adedoyin at a press conference in Ile Ife on Tuesday.
Adedoyin also showed interest in becoming the Ooni of Ife in the year 2015 during the selection of the late Oba Okunade Sijuade’s successor but lost to the present Monarch.
The press conference was attended by sixteen traditional rulers in Ife Kingdom and was led by the Obalufe of Ife, Oba Idowu Adediwura who is the traditional prime minister and the Lowa Adimula of Ife, Oba Adekola Adeyeye.
The poetry was said to have been sent discreetly from United Kingdom and has reached a lots of Nigerians.
While reading the address, the Secretary of the Council said that the kingmakers have found out that Chief Adedoyin is the financier of the poetry and it’s aimed at deriding the stool of Ooni.
He said, ” That beyond a reasonable doubt, Chief Ramon Adedoyin and his cohorts like Oba Adeoye Adefarakan have committed offences of defaming the stool and character of the Ooni of Ife, assault and the libellous release of the ewi remain indelible and all these acts are conducts likely to cause a breach of peace.
“That all parties involved in the meeting passed a vote of no confidence on Chief Ramon Adedoyin and Oba Adeoye Adefarakan.
“That the House of Oduduwa henceforth suspends the chieftaincy title of Maye of Ife that was bestowed on Chief Ramon Adedoyin until further notice.
“Chief Ramon Adedoyin should not parade himself as the Maye of Ife until he absolved himself of his disloyalty and betrayal to the stool of Ooni and the House of Oduduwa.”
The Chief also said Adedoyin has been invited to defend himself but shunned the invitation. He added that the popular Yoruba poet has revealed, during interrogation that he has been invited by Adedoyin to compose a prom to degrade Ooni in the past but he declined it.

‘Dwarf planet’ discovered in distant Solar System

A rare “dwarf planet” 18 times smaller than Earth, has been discovered in the distant Solar System on an eccentric orbit far beyond Neptune, astronomers said Tuesday. Dubbed RR245, the icy world is currently about 9.7 billion kilometres (six billion miles) from the Sun — 65 times further than Earth, said astronomer Jean- Marc Petit of France’s CNRS research institute. “But its orbit is very elliptical, and it will be 19 billion km at its furthest point” from our star,” he told AFP.
