Badagry Roundabout gets new face; as Leo clubs carried out her project in the area
The ever busy Badagry Roundabout got a new look as Leo clubs in lagos took to the area to carryo out her project by cleaning the area. As the saying goes "Cleanliness they say is next to godliness" Thus
The importance of cleanliness cannot be overemphasized as it builds one’s self esteem, protects us from illness and exposure to life ending microorganisms, as well as improve the appearance of our homes and surroundings by making it attractive and lovely.
As a humanitarian club whose goal is to improve our community by impacting it positively, Platinum Leo Club (youth activity of Isheri Platinum Lions Club) in collaboration with Badagry, Lagos Unity, OOU Ayetoro, FUNAAB Leo clubs participated in the sanitation exercise held every Thursday between the hours of 7-10am, themed; CLEAN BADADGRY ROUNDABOUT, with the sole aim of making sure the roundabout is cleaned thoroughly.
Brooms, waste parkers, waste nylons, nose cover and gloves were purchased by the collaborating team of Leo clubs and the project was ignited upon the arrival of representatives of the clubs at 9am. The roundabout and its surroundings were cleaned thoroughly to the delight of onlookers. The exercise was able to catch the interest of the Area Manager, VisionScape (cleaning agent of Lagos State Government to clean) who came around, participated and supported with more waste nylon and rakes alongside proper disposal of the wastes collected. He expressed his utmost appreciation to the Leo clubs for the initiative.
Immediately after the project, fliers which contained information about how to be environmentally friendly were distributed all around the vicinity as well as passerbys in vehicles. The project was concluded at 11.00am after pictures were taken by clubs. The left items after the project was donated to the District as support for Cleaner Beach project was will be carried out on 28 July 2018
