LEO DISTRICT 404B2 NIGERIA PRESENTS LEO EUNICE OBEHI MATHEW AS FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT

Only few could notice the joy on the face of members of the international
Leo club district 404B 2 Nigeria as Leo Odufuwa Adedamola handed over mantle of
leadership to the first elected female President Leo Eunice Obehi Matthew . The
event was graced by Lions and Leos across the District and from from other sister district,in attendance were the
District Governor for Lions District 404B2 Nigeria Lion (Asiwaju) Ayobola Samuel,Leo Programme chairperson,Lion Wale Afolabi,MDP Leo Oladeji Abass,District President of LD 404B1 and many other
. The outgoing President Leo Odufuwa Adedamola urged the new president to
rise up to the challenge before her and make sure she makes service to
humanity her priority in her Lions Service year. In her acceptance Speech, The
President Leo Eunice Matthew Promised to emphasize more on education, the
orphans and many more activities during her tenure as President, she later
presented her Cabinet officers to the public.

Less than 48 hours after a major fire outbreak caused by a fuel tanker explosion in the commercial city of Onitsha, killing about seven people and destroying shops. Another fire outbreak has surfaced about five minutes ago today, destroyed properties worth millions of naira. It was gathered that the fire outbreak which started around 9:48am in Agolo and another one in front of Bessoy Petrol station along Enugu-Onitsha. The incident was caused by a fuel tanker which fell in that area. Though the extent of damage is yet to be ascertained, buildings, vehicles and other valuable properties in Omaba Phase 2 were affected as the fire ravaged through the gutter Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner of Police (CP) John Abang said: “This time around the fire service responded well after they were contacted by my men.”

‘Dwarf planet’ discovered in distant Solar System

A rare “dwarf planet” 18 times smaller than Earth, has been discovered in the distant Solar System on an eccentric orbit far beyond Neptune, astronomers said Tuesday. Dubbed RR245, the icy world is currently about 9.7 billion kilometres (six billion miles) from the Sun — 65 times further than Earth, said astronomer Jean- Marc Petit of France’s CNRS research institute. “But its orbit is very elliptical, and it will be 19 billion km at its furthest point” from our star,” he told AFP. At the closest approach on its 700-year orbit, the planet will pass the Sun at a distance of some five billion km. Dwarf planets fall into a six-year-old category of celestial bodies. They are smaller than ordinary planets and orbit the Sun at a much greater distance, travelling in a zone littered with other objects like asteroids.
