The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has in Tuesday suspended Maye of Ife and Founder of Oduduwa University, Chief Ramon Adedoyin over an alleged ‘Ewi’ (poetry). The poetry was allegedly composed to deride the stool of Ooni. The Council of Ife chiefs also revealed that the plan is ongoing to remove Oloyere of Oyere, Oba Adeoye Adefarakan, who they accused of conniving with Adedoyin to tarnish the image of Oba Ogunwusi. The Royal Traditional Council of the Source announced the suspension of Adedoyin at a press conference in Ile Ife on Tuesday. Adedoyin also showed interest in becoming the Ooni of Ife in the year 2015 during the selection of the late Oba Okunade Sijuade’s successor but lost to the present Monarch.
